Today is the biggest strike in fast food history and it’s phenomenal. The actions in support of $15/hour wages and the right to form a union without retaliation have spread across the globe.

It’s time for McDonald’s and the whole fast food industry to recognize that they can’t keep paying poverty wages to their employees – men and women, moms and dads, people whose families are depending on them.

Support the strike – then spread the word! Sign our petition to McDonald’s to pay $15 an hour and allow workers to form a union. Make sure everyone at McDonald’s May 22nd shareholder meeting knows that paying poverty wages is no longer an option.

To: McDonald’s

In just 18 months, fast food worker strikes and protests have spread from a few stores in New York to every continent where you operate.

From the beginning, we spoke with one voice: nobody who works this hard for a living deserves poverty wages.

It’s time for McDonald’s to recognize how much the world has changed, and to change with it. Most of your workers are adults. Many have children. Almost all of them are working to afford things like rent and groceries. Your employees work hard for you, and are ready to keep working hard for you. But they can’t do it on pay that is so low that they are forced to rely on public assistance.

From Atlanta to Zurich, our movement is having an impact. America is listening. We hope you’re listening too. It’s time for McDonald’s to be a leader in its industry and do right by its employees by raising wages to $15 an hour and letting them form a union without intimidation.
